How are they different?
Spider veins are fine red or blue vessels close to the skin. They are often a cosmetic concern; pain, swelling or larger varicose veins may warrant assessment of venous circulation.
Treatment options
Sclerotherapy may suit some vessels and surface laser may suit others. Choice depends on vessel size, location, skin characteristics and clinical assessment.
Results and aftercare
Several sessions may be needed and improvement is gradual. Pigmentation, new fine vessels or bruising can occur. Complete permanent clearance cannot be guaranteed; follow individual aftercare instructions.
This is general information. Investigations and treatment require individual assessment. Do not wait for a routine booking if symptoms are sudden or severe.
